Maintenance and Cleaning Tips

To help keep your home running smoothly and safely, the Lakeside property management team put together these maintenance and cleaning tips.

Vacuum frequently. If your carpet needs a deeper cleaning, contact the management office.

Always use a cutting board for chopping and hot pads for hot items. Clean all counters with a mild cleaner.

Do not overload your dishwasher. Use dishwasher detergent recommended for automatic dishwashers. Rinse and wipe dry. Avoid gritty or harsh cleansers.

Keep the cold water running while the disposal is on. Do not use drain cleaning chemicals. Never put items such as bones, cornhusks, or metal in your disposal. Call the Management Office for maintenance service if the disposal still does not work.

Place plants in suitable containers with protective bases, such as plastic, ceramic, or terra cotta.

The Lakeside property management team provides periodic pest control service. If you are experiencing a pest problem, contact the management office to schedule service.

Should the toilet overflow, turn off the water supply by turning the handle under the tank clockwise and immediately call the maintenance office at (682) 936-2610. If your drains are clogged, please contact the maintenance office for assistance. Do not use drain cleaners.

Use a soft cloth and mild soap. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or scouring materials

Do not overload your washing machine, and use clothes detergent. Smaller loads often become unbalanced and will cause your machine to stop mid-cycle. If this happens, open the hood, redistribute the clothes, and close the hood. The machine should start again. Remove dryer lint vent before each load.

Close windows during rainy weather. Wipe blinds with a warm, damp, sudsy cloth. Rinse and wipe dry. Avoid gritty or harsh cleansers.
